Mi-26T fire-fighting version
Helicopter fire-fighting complex with VSU-15 water-discharging device on external sling is designed for:
• extinguishing and localization of fire sources;
• extinguishing and localization of industrial and domestic fires;
• delivery of mobile fire-fighting refilling stations, wheeled and
caterpillar materiel, as well as ground fire-fighting service
troops to remote and hard-to-access areas of fire.
Fire-fighting helicopter complex comprises:
• VSU-15 water-discharging device;
• external sling providing transportation of VSU-15 and water
intake and discharge control;
• global positioning system;
• thermal vision;
• radio means for communication of crew with ground firefighting
units;
• chemical adds dosage system.
The water-discharging device provides water intake in hovering mode from any water reservoirs
including shallow ones. Water intake and discharge control is performed remotely through
operator's control panel. In case of necessity, VSU-15 can be quickly disconnected, and the
helicopter can be used for transportation of personnel and equipment.
Time, saved due to water intake simplification, allows the helicopter to perform more shuttle
flights to fire source.
