CAR BUYING OFF EXPAT MOTORS IN THAILAND BUYING ON FINANCE CAN LEAD TO LOSING CARS AND YOUR BUSINESS Expat Motors did business with a Thai supplier 3 years ago or so supplying them with new cars. In total they say they sold around 80 vehicles from the supplier. After a period of time registation docs from this supplier started to get slower and slower in coming to them which meant something was up but Expat Motors never it seemed clicked onto it. In the end we stopped buying from him and have been stuck with 10 cars with outstanding registration documents due. They found out after some investigations that the supplier was financing the cars after we'd paid cash for them. This means in effect the finance company owns the vehicles and those that have made payments will also lose out. Anyway he's locked up and we have several unhappy people wanting paperwork, refunds etc . They don't have the funds to close the outstanding finance neither can we afford to buy the cars back so in a difficult spot.
Buying a car or bike is always a hazard but there are ways to safeguard. Now for Expat Motors they should have used GE Money one of the best in Thailand instead of the one they used & this chap was financing the cars himself. They never did their homework as a Company & no background check on where the cars came from. If they had paid cash then they should have got the tabians straight away---there mistake and to those who bought cars off Expat Motors. Now if you have finance no way will you get that Book until full payment is made & even GE Money dilly around for up to 3 months after final payment is made. The problem here could be whoever collected the payments has hiked it with the money so someone has to pay. Andy Wing is not a happy chappie??? But again he never did his homework on using a reputable Company & people believed in him who bought cars. Foreigners have little comeback & to file in Court will take time & money but be prepared for the worse. If the finance company has a hold on those cars then forget getting your money back or the cars as I’m sure the money paid already has gone west!!!!!!!!!!!!!! & the finance company will be first in line as they will hold the tabians.
